Vehicle Monitors That Stay Readable in Daylight and Survive 40V
The monitor is where camera quality is either delivered or wasted. Our JPM range runs AHD panels with high brightness, wide input voltage and brackets that actually fit a truck dashboard.
The most common complaint we hear about competitor monitors is a black screen on a 24V vehicle. Most generic 7-inch monitors are rated to 30V and fail the moment the alternator surges. Our mirror and truck monitors are built to work up to 40V, with reverse-polarity protection and transient suppression for the electrical noise a commercial vehicle generates.
Beyond voltage, three things decide whether a monitor works in service: brightness (candela per square metre, not a marketing number), the mounting system, and whether the housing can take a knock. We publish brightness on the models where it matters and supply brackets designed for the specific vehicle rather than a universal ball joint.

View detailsWhat to check before you specify a monitor
- Input voltage range. If the vehicle is 24V, confirm the monitor is rated above 30V. This single spec causes more warranty claims than any other.
- Brightness. For a cab in direct sun, look for 500 cd/m² or higher. Mirror monitors are read at close range so they tolerate less, but they must still have a genuinely anti-glare surface.
- Channel count. Decide now whether the driver needs one view, two views or four. Buying a 4-channel monitor and running one camera wastes money; buying a single-channel unit and adding cameras later wastes more.
- Mounting. Check the bracket against the actual dashboard before you commit. We supply several bracket types for the mirror range because no single bracket fits every cab.
- NVH. A monitor that rattles at idle will be switched off by the driver. Damped brackets matter more than most buyers expect.
Frequently asked questions
Will an AHD monitor accept my existing CVBS cameras?
Most of our monitors accept both CVBS and AHD, which is what makes them suitable for staged retrofits — keep the existing cameras today, replace them with AHD later. Confirm the specific model with us if you are mixing brands.
Why does my monitor show a blue screen when the engine starts?
That is a voltage dip during cranking dropping the monitor below its minimum. Two fixes: use a monitor with a wider input range (40V-rated models such as the JPM-71B), or add an ignition-delay module so the monitor powers up after the engine is running.
