The monitor is where camera quality is either delivered or wasted. Our JPM range runs AHD panels with high brightness, wide input voltage and brackets that actually fit a truck dashboard.
The most common complaint we hear about competitor monitors is a black screen on a 24V vehicle. Most generic 7-inch monitors are rated to 30V and fail the moment the alternator surges. Our mirror and truck monitors are built to work up to 40V, with reverse-polarity protection and transient suppression for the electrical noise a commercial vehicle generates.
Beyond voltage, three things decide whether a monitor works in service: brightness (candela per square metre, not a marketing number), the mounting system, and whether the housing can take a knock. We publish brightness on the models where it matters and supply brackets designed for the specific vehicle rather than a universal ball joint.

Most of our monitors accept both CVBS and AHD, which is what makes them suitable for staged retrofits — keep the existing cameras today, replace them with AHD later. Confirm the specific model with us if you are mixing brands.
That is a voltage dip during cranking dropping the monitor below its minimum. Two fixes: use a monitor with a wider input range (40V-rated models such as the JPM-71B), or add an ignition-delay module so the monitor powers up after the engine is running.
