Running a Private-Label or OEM Camera Programme
If you sell under your own brand, the difference between a supplier and a partner is what they will change. This note sets out exactly what we customise, and what the process looks like from first enquiry to repeat order.
What we customise
| Element | What can change | Typical lead time impact |
|---|---|---|
| Logo and branding | Laser etch, silk print, embossed housing, label | None — applies to standard units |
| Housing | Private tooling, colour, material, IP rating upgrades | Tooling and sampling required |
| Cable and connector | Length, gauge, connector type, harness configuration | Sample confirmation |
| Lens and angle | Focal length, field of view, IR filter | Sample confirmation |
| Functions | Channels, alarm logic, voltage range, auto-switching behaviour | Sample confirmation |
| Firmware and UI | Menu language, default settings, alarm thresholds, OSD text | Sample confirmation |
| Packaging | Retail box, EAN/barcode, manual language, kitting per vehicle | Design and print |
| Documentation | Manual, wiring diagram, certification copies, datasheet | Design and translation |
How the process runs
Requirements
You describe the vehicle, the market, the price point and the function. We tell you what is achievable at your volume.
Proposal and sampling
We quote on a documented specification. Standard models can be sampled immediately; custom changes require a sample build.
Sample approval
You test the samples in your market. We adjust and resubmit until the specification is locked.
Production and repeat
Production runs against the locked specification, with inspection before shipment and documented changes for any subsequent revision.
What to send us for a fast answer
- Vehicle type and market — for example "12 m city bus, Poland" or "semi-trailer fleet, Australia". Voltage, climate and regulation all follow from this.
- The function you need, not the model you think you need. Describing the problem gives our engineers room to propose something better or cheaper.
- Volume and cadence — first order, and expected annual volume. Tooling decisions depend on both.
- Your price point. We would rather tell you honestly what is achievable at your target than quote something that cannot work.
- Any regulatory requirements the destination market imposes — E-mark, CE, FCC, RoHS, or a transit authority specification.
Documentation and compliance
For private-label programmes we supply the technical documentation that distributors need to sell: product datasheets, wiring diagrams, user manuals in your language, and copies of the applicable certification documents. We hold CE, RoHS and FCC documentation for the relevant product families, and EMC and RoHS certification for camera and monitor ranges. Confirm the specific document set you need at quotation stage and we will include it in the offer.
What we will not do
We will not certify a product for a market we have not tested it against, and we will not put a certification mark on a unit that has not been through the relevant test. If your market requires a certification we do not hold, we will tell you so at the quotation stage rather than after the order.
What to measure in a programme
- Field failure rate by model, tracked from your own warranty returns. This is the number that decides whether a programme grows.
- Sample-to-production deviation. Any difference between the approved sample and the shipped goods is a defect, and it should be raised immediately.
- Documentation completeness at each order — manuals, labels, certification copies.
- Lead time adherence against the agreed schedule, tracked per shipment rather than anecdotally.
Ranges that appear in this configuration

Multi-Camera and Driver Monitoring for City Bus Fleets
A bus camera system has two jobs that pull in opposite directions: it must produce credible evidence after an incident, and it must be discreet enough that passengers do not object. Getting both right is a question of placement and housing choice.
Forklift and Yard Pedestrian Safety
Forklifts have the shortest stopping distance and the longest list of blind spots of any vehicle in a yard. Two cameras and a reverse alarm remove most of the risk at a fraction of the cost of an accident.
Explosion-Proof and Stainless Vision for Fuel and Chemical Transport
A camera on a fuel tanker has to survive two things at once: an atmosphere that corrodes aluminium and a classification that prohibits ordinary electrical equipment. Both constraints are addressable — but not with a standard truck camera.
