Points to confirm before production so the unit arrives ready to fit.
- Confirm whether animal recognition is required (the core selling point of this model); customers who only need human + vehicle recognition can choose JPC-256Ai-7inch and other models
- Confirm the lens and field of view: 10mm (FOV 18°×13°, see far) is standard, there is also a 4mm wide-angle version (FOV 45°×33°, see wide, and animals at close range are easier to enter the frame)
- Confirm resolution: 256 × 192 standard; 384 × 288 and 640 × 512 are upgrade options.
- Confirm whether the customer's model is a passenger car or a commercial vehicle. The installation location and bracket of the main unit must be mentioned in advance
- Confirm the power supply method: it must be equipped with a regulated power supply, the red wire is connected to ACC, and the black wire is grounded (the car will automatically cut off the power when it is locked, so there will be no loss of power)
- Confirm whether you need to connect an external audible and visual alarm (3.3V signal output, connected to a relay, cannot be directly connected to a load)
- Confirm whether a USB flash drive (for recording) and its capacity are needed
- Confirm whether you need to customize the startup video, LOGO, and warning voice
- Confirm the language version (default is simplified Chinese, available in 10 languages)
- Confirm quantity, packaging and printing requirements in advance.
Installation & usage
Voltage, wiring, sealing and maintenance guidance for the installer.
- The camera must be installed outside the car at the middle grille of the front bumper: far-infrared heat radiation cannot penetrate the glass, and it cannot be photographed through the glass inside the car
- If the air inlet on the upper part of the center grille is too small (the horizontal clearance is less than about 15mm) or if the center grille of a pure electric vehicle is closed, it should be installed in the lower area of the bumper instead
- The camera installation angle is parallel to the ground and has nothing to do with the installation height; the intersection between the sky and the road in the distance should be approximately in the middle of the screen
- A supporting stabilized power supply must be installed, with the red wire connected to ACC and the black wire grounded; the system will automatically shut down after the ACC is powered off, without consuming the battery
- The 3.3V early warning signal output can only be used as a signal. It is recommended to connect a relay. Direct load is not allowed
- The lens is coated with antireflection coating. It can only be wiped with a special lens cloth or glasses cloth. Do not touch it with your hands, and do not use alcohol or hard objects
- Do not point the camera at the sun, lasers, welding arcs or other intense light sources for long periods.
- The screen will temporarily freeze for about 100ms (shutter refresh) and then recover, which is normal
- Thermal contrast falls as ambient temperature rises; this is normal.
- It takes about 10 seconds to turn on the phone for the first time (including camera warm-up), and then drive after the picture is stable
- The cables are routed through both sides of the engine compartment and under the A-pillar into the cab, avoiding the high-temperature parts of the engine casing. They are routed along with the factory wiring harness and fixed with ties
- It is recommended that the camera and cable connectors be wrapped with waterproof tape to enhance waterproofing
- After loading the vehicle, fine-tune the warning area and sensitivity according to actual road conditions: if the animal recognition sensitivity is set too high, it will cause false alarms at roadside heat sources
